What is Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy and Pure Hypnoanalysis?
What is 'Pure Hypnoanalysis', what makes it different from the other therapies you may have tried?
If you have tried other therapies you have probably been taught various coping techniques, relaxation techniques, distraction techniques. Now the problem is that all of these things are both well meaning and reasonably good for helping you cope, (albeit for a while), with whatever it is you 'think' is wrong with you. But, ask yourself this question, what exactly is this 'thing' that I am trying to cope with?
This 'thing', is simply negative emotions! Let's cut to the chase, and take depression for an example. Depression isn't a long dark tunnel or a huge black cloud, it's not even a disease that you went out and caught one day. People are depressed because they feel 'bad', and they feel bad because of all the 'shite' that has happened or is happening to them that they are 'bottling up', and they are bottling it up because we have been brought up to believe that there's no point in complaining, because no one's listening.
Hopefully, you can now see that depression, just like phobias, sexual problems, weight issues, addictions etc, is just a symptom, a sign that 'something' is wrong and is making you feel 'bad'. Now you don't have to be a rocket scientist to catch on to the fact that some thing/incident must have caused this, believe me you didn't wake up one morning and decided to feel this way.
As I have already mentioned, these 'bad' feelings are simply due to 'bottled-up' negative emotions, meaning that whatever happened to you caused you great distress and because, at the time, you felt that you couldn't or you were prevented from releasing those emotions, you 'bottled' them up, because you had to get on with life; which lead that you 'believe' that you had dealt with them, treating them as if they had never occurred (out of sight, out of mind).
But, now here is the catch - every time something puts you under pressure or stress, or you're experiencing life changes (remember the only thing that is constant in this world is change) these 'bottled-up' emotions are given an outlet or triggered, making whatever is presently going on in your life, seem a whole lot worse. This means, the things that you feel you should be handling right now (life), you aren't handling at all well, and you are beginning to make a drama out of every crisis.
Now, I.A.P.H. therapist's, like myself use 'Pure Hypnoanalysis', to sort your problems out completely. No, we don't teach you coping techniques to 'hopefully' get you by for a while; we simply help you to find and then release the cause of your problem - the 'bottled up' negative emotions. Then your problems/symptoms will disappear and, not only that, the way that you were left feeling about yourself - guilty, worthless, stupid, bad, judged etc. because of what happened, will also change for the better.
When this happens, all the things that have held you back in life, all those little nagging fears and doubts you have about yourself will also no longer have a grip on your life. You will finally feel able and worthy to be the person you have always wanted to be.
What we are talking about is a complete and lasting resolution, and not merely control of your symptoms through the use of dieting, anti-depressants, herbal remedies, alcohol, drugs etc. There is no reason why you should put up with something 'inside yourself, but outside of your control', that's provided you can devote time, effort, money and the self-discipline it takes to be finally free from your problems.
The use of 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' dramatically 'speeds' therapy up, and you will achieve similar results in just a few weeks (usually 6 to 9 weekly sessions) as would be expected from the more conventional '1000 hour' Analysis.
What is hypnosis?
The state of Hypnosis is a totally natural phenomenon, and is both relaxing and pleasant. Whilst in this state a person can still converse easily (during Hypno-Analysis you will be encouraged to speak). While the British Medical Association has approved the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic aid for more than 40 years, there is evidence that as far back as the fourth century B.C. that the Ancient Greeks and Romans used hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. Hypnosis comes from the Greek word 'Hypnos' which means sleep. This is because while a person is a state of Hypnosis they are very, very relaxed, and for all cosmetic purposes they seem to be asleep.
What is Suggestion Therapy (commonly known as Hypnotherapy)?
Suggestion Therapy has many uses, but unlike 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' it doesn't offer a complete and lasting resolution to your symptoms, in fact, the best that it can offer is temporary relief from your symptoms - a bit like alcohol, drugs, food etc. This is why I refer to it as 'sticking plaster' therapy, and like all sticking plasters, it cannot last forever. If you have already consulted other hypnotherapists before now, then chances are Suggestion Therapy is what you were given.
Suggestion Therapy is ideally suited to and very effective for simple problems; and of course, for when the individual doesn't have enough time to complete a course of 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' and needs the 'quick fix' which will give them the confidence and calmness to, for example, get on that plane, or pass that driving test, or get through that job interview.
Now, because Suggestion Therapy usually has immediate and often seemingly miraculous results, for this reason it is the method that is used when you see hypnotherapy programmes on the TV. But, these programmes very rarely do follow ups and if they did they would find a return of the symptoms, maybe not as severe but returned all the same. Or they would find a completely new symptom altogether because the first symptom has been substituted for a new one. I have used 'Pure Hypnoanalysis' to deal with countless cases such as this.
What does hypnosis feel like / will I be asleep?
You are not asleep, and you are not 'out of it' or 'under' anything. All that happens, and I hate to 'burst anyone's bubble', is that when you are hypnotised, all you feel is very, very relaxed. In fact you already know what it feels like to be hypnotised, every time you have intensely watched television, daydreamed, gotten lost in a book or driving and forgot that you were driving for a moment, you have experienced the state of hypnosis.
Will I lose control?
There is absolutely no question of being controlled or manipulated, and it's not a form of mind control as the stage hypnotists would have you believe. If this was really the case what would stop a hypnotherapist walking into a bank, clicking his or her fingers everywhere, and cleaning the place out (apart from integrity of course). So this proves that you cannot be made to do anything against your will or code of ethics.
Will I remember what happened?
Yes, you will remember everything that happens during the sessions, remember you don't lose control at any time.
Can anyone NOT be hypnotised?
The mentally challenged and anyone who chooses not to be, remember it's not a mind control thing.
What is Hypnotherapy?
The use of various therapeutic techniques used in conjunction with the hypnotic / relaxed state.
How many visits will I need?
Simple problems will usually require one session of suggestion therapy. The more deep-rooted, nervous problems usually require 6-9 weekly sessions of Analytical therapy.
What is 'Suggestion' therapy?
'Suggestion' therapy is ideally suited for simple problem such as smoking, nail-biting, pre-test nerves, confidence boosting, relaxation, stress relief etc. this therapy is usually effective immediately, and hence only one or sometimes two sessions would be required, with perhaps a booster at a later date (except for smoking, ONE SESSION is all it takes).
What is 'Analytical' Therapy (Pure Hypnoanalysis)?
'Analytical' therapy (Hypnoanalysis) is effectively used to discover and remove the cause of your problem/symptom/anxiety. Hypnoanalysis can be summarised as the doctrine of 'cause and effect', every effect (the symptom) must have a cause.
If you have a problem (symptom), it is a sign that something is making you feel uncomfortable. Now you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realise that some thing / incident must have caused this. You didn't wake up one morning and decide to feel this way.
The cause of your discomfort is simply due to 'bottled-up' emotions, meaning that whatever happened to you caused you great distress, and because you felt that you couldn't or you were prevented from releasing those emotions, you 'bottled' them up. Which meant that you 'believed' you had dealt with them, by treating them as if they had never occurred (out of sight, out of mind).
But now here is the catch is every time something puts you under an 'out of the ordinary' amount of pressure or your life is going through a change (remember the only thing that is constant in this world, is change) these 'bottled-up' emotions are provided with an outlet/or triggered, making whatever it is seem a whole lot worse, and resulting in the things that you feel you should be handling (life), becoming a struggle, this is why you are starting to make a drama out of every crisis.
Hypnoanalysis will help you to find and release the cause of your problem, then the problem / symptoms will disappear. Not only that but the way they made you feel about yourself (guilty, worthless, stupid, bad, judged etc) because of those incidents will also change for the better.
Resulting in all the things that have held you back in life, all those little nagging fears and doubts you have about yourself will also no longer have a grip on your life. You will finally feel able and worthy to be the person you have always wanted to be.
What we are talking about is a complete and lasting resolution, as opposed to mere control of your symptoms through the use of dieting, anti-depressants, herbal remedies, alcohol, drugs etc. There is no reason why you should put up with something 'inside yourself, but outside of your control', that's provided you can devote time, effort, money and the self-discipline it takes to be finally free from your problems.
