What is stress?
We all face different challenges and obstacles and sometimes we feel that the pressure is too hard to handle. This can leave us feeling overwhelmed, under the gun, or unsure how to meet the pressures and demands placed on us - this feeling is stress.
Everyone experiences stress from time to time - adults, teens and even kids. In small doses, feeling stressed can be a good thing: the feeling can give you the push you need, motivating you to do your best and help you to stay focused and alert. Feeling a bit stressed is what keeps you on your toes during a presentation at work, or to give your best in a competition, say. But when the going becomes too tough and life's demands begin to exceed your belief in your ability to cope, you can become overloaded with feeling stressed. This is when feeling stressed can become a challenge or threat to both your physical and emotional well-being.
Signs of Stress Overload
If you are experiencing stress overload you may notice some of the following signs:
Anxiety or panic attacks
Feelings of being constantly pressured, hassled and hurried
Irritability and moodiness
Physical symptoms, such as stomach problems, headaches, chest pain
Allergic reactions, such as eczema or asthma
Insomnia, sleep problems
Drinking too much, smoking, over-eating, or doing drugs
Sadness or depression
Everyone expresses stressful feelings in different ways; some people become angry and act out their stress, taking their feelings out on others; some people internalise their feelings and ‘bottle’ it all up and this can develop into problems such as an eating disorder or substance abuse; some people can develop a chronic illness and, those who have a chronic illness already, could find that the symptoms of their illness flare up when they feel stressed. When you feel stressed, this depletes your immune system. Your immune system is your only line of defence against illness and disease, so feeling stressed can make you more prone to illnesses and disease - just ask anyone you know who has an illness and they will tell you that, prior to diagnosis, they were going through a period when they felt very stressed or anxious and/or unhappy!
Many problems such as over-eating, smoking, drinking and drug abuse are linked to feelings of stress or anxiety or unhappiness....food, cigarettes, drink and drugs are used as an escape, as a comfort, or as a temporary way of "switching off" - but they do not address the underlying problems.
Using ‘Pure Hypnoanalysis’ I can help you to address these underlying problems. Together we can resolve all of your stressed feelings that you have ‘bottled up’ over the years. Because it’s this accumulated, internal stress that makes the present day-to-day challenges seem so difficult to deal with.
Remember, feeling stressed can cause problems in marriages and relationships; the feelings can cause problems in the workplace or at home with your family; the changes in the body from feeling stressed can also cause physical and mental illness and disease and can eventually send you to an early grave.
So if any of what you have just read applies to you then calling me now just might be the smartest thing you could do for you!
As an alternative to hypnoanalysis, you may be better suited to the specialised cognitive training I am a licensed consultant for known as The Thrive Programme™ or perhaps a combination of the two. The best approach for you will be discussed during the free initial meeting.
